The partners celebrated the eitHealth project meeting at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, on November 16th and 17th. IBV presented the pilot case to evaluate the potential of process mining in the assessment of clinical functional protocols.

Giuseppe Caprara, Innovation manager at IBV, showed the use case, developed by Arturo Gomez Pellin, José Francisco Pedrero Sánchez and Juan Lopez Pascual in which process mining approach was applied to frailty assessment.

The VALUE’s process mining approach allowed to analyse the influence of Parkinson and Alzheimer diseases on the performance of a modified TUG test (IBV’s FallSkip Test), including the strategy that patients use in the different gestures of the test.

VALUES’s technique could provide new options in the optimization of new clinical protocols or in the design or improvement of processes for biomechanical assessment

Caprara states that “IBV’s activity in Health has gained an excellent reputation among the consortium. The partners appreciate the progress of our latest developments in non-intrusive monitoring, which implies a high range of possibilities to use process mining and improve our outcomes at the same time”.

The project is led by UPM Madrid, and it counts with the participation of several partners from Spain, Portugal and Sweden. The group from Valencia is consistent: apart of IBV in the consortium we have also UPV-ITACA (Research Institute), specifically the SABIEN group (Technologies for Health and Well-Being, expert in process mining) and the innovative company MySphera. VALUE is a solution aimed at care providers to deliver healthcare services providing value to the patients, while keeping healthcare sustainable.

By the end of the year the consortium will present the results of the pilot cases performed in Coimbra, Salamanca, Madrid, Rotterdam, Barcelona, Stockholm and Valencia.
