National take-up seminars of SIMON project

These seminars has capitalised on the interest of stakeholders to exchange with and learn from their peers, while also removing language barriers by organizing the event in the local language.

SIMON – asSIsted Mobililty for Older aNd impaired users - is a demonstration oriented project, started in January 2014, with large scale pilots in Madrid, Lisbon, Parma and Reading. SIMON aims at promoting the independent living and societal participation of mobility impaired people in the context of public parking areas and multiple transport modes, through the adoption of specific navigation information and access-rights management solutions. To do so is integrating different ICT solutions that enable users to significantly improve their mobility, promoting their access to the available information, providing new tools and ensuring management of their access rights safely.

Seminars orgainsed in Madrid, Lisbon, Parma and Reading:

  • Madrid presented the project at a specific local disability event last December 8th. Furthermore, a bigger event was held on June 2016 (see information here)
  • The Lisbon Seminar was held on 15th December at Centro de Informação Urbana de Lisboa – CIUL (Picoas Plaza).
  • Parmaarragend the Seminar on the 13th of December within the Parma City council of Parma with representatives of the Municipality of the Cities near Parma, representatives of Associations of Parma and Roma (FIABA), SIMON Users.
  • The Reading Borough Council is preparing several meetings with relevant stakeholders during December.
