WetakeCare at AAL Forum 2015

The Instituto de Biomecánica (Biomechanics Institute - IBV) is introducing the WetakeCare project at the AAL Forum. This major event is the annual platform for the increasing European AAL community to meet and discuss seceral topics, relevant for improving the AAL as well as the adoption of AAL solutions in the market. It is an initiative of the AAL Programme.

The Forum 2015 is taking place in Ghent (Belgium) between 22 and 25 September. The event is supported by the AAL Programme and IWT, the Flemish agency for innovation by science and technology , and it is organized in collaboration with I Minds.

 

This new event is aiming at offering the participants high interactivity and hands on experience on the ultimate technology that the AAL world can offer today. It will combine interactive sessions and workshops with an interesting exhibition area. Initiatives from the Flanders care sectors and care living labs will be showcased while end users will be heavily involved.

 

The AAL Forum is the annual platform for the increasing European AAL community to meet and discuss seceral topics, relevant for improving the AAL Programme as well as the adoption of AAL solutions in the market. It is an initiative of the AAL Programme.
Also this year the Forum is the best to be f you work in AAL. With the objective to bring together 1000 participants, 50 stands and more than 150 presentations, the AAL Forum is reaching out a new region in Europe and aims at bringing you always at the fronthead of our domain.

 

WeTakeCare will develop an interactive and multimodal system for the training on ADL, builded mainly on software solutions running on off-the-shelf hardware equipment. System functionalities will be: (i) gestural controlled ADL exercises with Kinect (ii) web platform with courses, workshops and links to main care-giving blogs, forums and social networks and (iii) general functionalities as agenda & reminders, communication and TV control. The aimed target users are the persons, aged 50+, presenting an initial lost of capabilities and/or having a light to moderate physical disability and their caregivers.

WeTakeCare will be introducing their voice in the stages of definition of requirements, the concept and product development as well as in the different validations. This will ensure a functional and easy to use, guaranteeing product acceptance and future market penetration.
