The project led by the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia has advanced in the design of customized interior air conditioning systems (heating and air conditioning), in order to the car knows the preferences of each passenger and adjusts the climate around of the occupant. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the occupant of the vehicle is comfortable with minimum energy consumption.
This technology is especially relevant for electric vehicles, where it is critical that the energy devoted to the auxiliary systems be reduced to increase the autonomy of the vehicle but always maintaining comfort on board.
These advances have been presented at the 4th Annual Automotive Seating Innovations Summit, held in Milan at the beginning of April.
